KINROSS CREEK HOUSING CO-OPERATIVE

General Meeting Etiquette Guidelines

Our goal is to make our members feel more valued and comfortable at our General Meetings. In light of that, here are our suggestions.

1. We will speak to the issue and not the person.

2. We will respect the right of any member to speak without interruption.

3. We will not engage in personal attacks.

4. We will not judge.

5. We will use a Speaker’s List and time limits when necessary. This is to be kept by the Speaker List Co-Ordinator.

6. We will keep to the topic of discussion.

7. We will not tolerate cross talk.

8. We will follow a simplified Robert’s Rules of Order.

9. We will make decisions by consensus decision, wherever possible.

(Once approved by the General Membership, we would like to see this proudly displayed in the Chlan Centre, along with our Vision and Mission Statements.)
